I’m so excited to be teaching music for the Kindergarteners through 8th grade this year. There are so many fun experiences in store for us! For the younger grades, there are singing games, songs, dances, holiday celebrations to teach music theory and history as well as elements of rhythm and melody.
Fourth graders are introduced to playing recorders, which continues into 5th grade with more complex ensemble work.
Sixth through eighth graders learn to play the handchimes, which requires greater music reading and rhythmic skills. Fifth through eighth graders explore choral singing with harmony, both for our school liturgies as well as our Spring musical. Exciting stuff!!
I’m really thrilled to be teaching art for the Kindergarten through 5th grades this year. There are so many wonderful aspects of art to explore – elements of line, shape, texture, color, value, form and space. There are famous artists, techniques and movements to discover. Fun ways to be creative – can’t wait to get started!!
